"I met with Members of Parliament and delegates from over 30 countries who visited the Parliament House today. Our discussions were meaningful, focusing on democratic systems, parliamentary traditions, cultural ties, and pressing global issues affecting our nations," he remarked.
Birla noted that the delegates closely examined the workings of India's parliamentary system, expressing admiration for the country's robust democratic framework.
"The international delegation closely observed and appreciated India's strong parliamentary democratic system, its operational structure, and rich traditions. They expressed profound admiration after witnessing the architecture of India's Parliament, its historical legacy, and our commitment to democratic values," he added.
He also mentioned that the delegates are currently in India to attend the NXT Conclave 2026, taking place in New Delhi.
"Representatives from various sectors, including policy, academia, business, politics, and science, participated in the inaugural session of the conclave and later visited the Parliament House today. I wish all members of the delegation a successful, enjoyable, and meaningful time in India," Birla concluded.
On the preceding day, Birla spoke in the House for the first time since the no-confidence motion against him was dismissed. He expressed gratitude to members for their contributions to the debate, emphasizing that the functioning of Parliament is strictly governed by established rules and protocols.
"We engaged in over 12 hours of discussion regarding the motion against the Lok Sabha Speaker. The intent of the debate was to grasp the concerns and opinions of every member of the House," Birla stated.
He underscored that the Lok Sabha embodies the democratic will of the Indian populace.
Throughout his tenure, Birla has consistently sought to ensure that every member has a chance to voice their opinions.
"I have encouraged members who are hesitant to speak to step forward and share their perspectives. Throughout my two terms as Speaker, I have urged those reluctant to engage in debates to do so, as it fortifies the foundations of democracy," he emphasized.
