Chandigarh, Sep 28 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann, honored the memory of the 'Shaheed-e-Azam' Bhagat Singh on his birth anniversary by laying a floral tribute. He announced that the Bhagat Singh Heritage Complex in Khatkar Kalan, the birthplace of the esteemed martyr, will be inaugurated shortly.

He revealed that the construction of this complex is in full progress, with an investment of Rs 51.70 crore dedicated to honoring Bhagat Singh.

The Chief Minister underscored that this iconic martyr laid down his life to free India from the grip of foreign rule.

He noted that this ambitious initiative will inspire future generations to serve the nation with dedication, as it aims to preserve and promote the unmatched legacy of this great son of the soil.

Mann emphasized that the complex will be more than just a physical structure; it will provide visitors with an unforgettable experience, showcasing Bhagat Singh's ultimate sacrifice for the motherland, his profound intellect, and his fearless spirit.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed that the monument will include a magnificent thematic entrance, a 350-metre-long heritage street linking the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Museum to his family home, depicting the life of Shaheed-e-Azam and India’s struggle for freedom through sculptures, 2D/3D wall art, and mannequins that capture the essence of colonial India.

Furthermore, it will feature a 700-seat fully air-conditioned auditorium and a replica of Bhagat Singh's ancestral home in Lyallpur (present-day Pakistan).

Additionally, the Chief Minister mentioned that Bhagat Singh's ancestral residence in Khatkar Kalan is undergoing restoration, with a digital recreation of the freedom fighter's courtroom trial being developed to transport visitors back in time and highlight his revolutionary passion.

Mann also noted that the current library is being upgraded and digitized to provide an immersive experience, while other facilities at the complex will include a tourist facilitation center, cottages, landscaped gardens, a musical fountain, and ample parking.

Earlier, the Chief Minister laid a wreath at the statue of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh and paid floral tributes at the memorial of the great martyr's father, Sardar Kishan Singh.
