Jammu, Oct 14 (NationPress) Lieutenant General Manoj K. Katiyar, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GoC-in-C) of the Western Command, indicated on Tuesday that if Pakistan attempts to launch another attack on India, they can expect a response that surpasses the scope of Operation Sindoor.
While addressing the media during the Mega ex-servicemen rally in the region, Lt General Katiyar stated, “From the 1965 war to Operation Sindoor, advancements in technology have been significant, yet the valour of the Indian Army remains unwavering. Although Pakistan has recently employed numerous drones, none have successfully executed an attack, even during attempts on the Jammu and Pathankot airports. Each of their assaults has been thwarted by our anti-air artillery.
“Should Pakistan attempt an attack again, they will receive a response greater than that of Operation Sindoor,” he asserted.
The senior Army official warned that as long as Pakistan maintains its current mindset, assaults will persist, hinting at the possibility of “Operation Sindoor 2.0.”
He highlighted that Operation Sindoor effectively targeted Pakistani airbases and posts, and affirmed that India is poised to confront future threats with even greater force.
The Chief of Western Command cautioned that any forthcoming counter-operation, referred to as “Operation Sindoor 2.0,” could be significantly more lethal if Pakistan continues its pattern of terrorism.
Operation Sindoor was initiated following the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 and involved precise strikes on terrorist infrastructures located in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir.
Lt. General Katiyar reiterated that a change in Pakistan's mentality is essential, or they will persist in their current tactics, although the Indian Army is ready to decisively counter any malicious actions.
While commemorating 60 years since the 1965 India-Pakistan War, the Lt. General acknowledged that the success of Operation Sindoor was largely due to support from the administration, ex-servicemen, and local communities.
It is important to note that the Army is tasked with securing the 740-km-long Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.
