Mumbai, April 13 (NationPress) Renowned vocalist Palash Sen honored the legendary Asha Bhosle with a heartfelt musical tribute, performing her timeless song “Aao Na, Gale Laga Lo Na” from the classic 1972 film “Mere Jeevan Saathi.” In a touching message, he affectionately referred to her as “India’s true Bharat Ratna.”
Palash shared a video on Instagram, showcasing his rendition of the beloved track. He also reminisced about their first encounter, expressing his shyness during that moment.
“Asha Taii... we have cherished you with every breath. That love will never fade. I met you while you were recording for Filhaal, and I was too shy to approach you. Yet, you called out, asking, ‘Where is that Dhoom band guy?’” he recalled.
He continued, “I stood there nervously as you spoke, laughed, and joked. Your voice will remain with me forever.”
Palash explained why he has no photographs with Asha Bhosle, saying, “Of course, I don’t have pictures with you. One doesn’t ask God for selfies. I felt unworthy to sing alongside you. I’m just a humble admirer grateful to have touched your feet. Travel safely, Asha tai. Thank you for gracing our world. You will always be our only Rockstar.”
He added, “Here’s one of her countless songs. My tribute to such a joyous spirit is a celebration of the incredible life and love she bestowed upon us. Long live Asha Bhosle!! India’s true Bharat Ratna.”
Asha Bhosle passed away at 92 in Mumbai and was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on Saturday. Her last rites are scheduled for Monday at 4:00 PM at Shivaji Park.
Palash founded his band Euphoria during his college years, with their debut hit 'Dhoom Pichuck Dhoom' achieving massive success.
