New Delhi, April 12 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed his sorrow on Sunday regarding the passing of the iconic vocalist Asha Bhosle. The legendary singer left us in Mumbai at the age of 92.

On the social media platform X, Union Minister Shah stated, "Today marks a mournful moment for all Indians, particularly for music enthusiasts like myself, as our cherished Asha Bhosle ji is no longer with us."

He continued, "Asha Tai not only established a remarkable identity through her melodious voice and unmatched artistry, but she also significantly enriched Indian music with her enchanting tunes. Her remarkable versatility across various music styles captured the hearts of many."

The Home Minister acknowledged Asha Bhosle's exceptional singing talent across numerous languages and genres.

"Asha ji, who resonated with millions through her voice, has made a lasting impression not only in Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Gujarati, and other languages but also in traditional folk music," he remarked.

He reflected on his personal encounters with the musical legend.

"Asha Tai's voice possessed the same gentleness as her character exuded simplicity and warmth. During our meetings, we often engaged in extensive discussions about music and art. Although she may no longer be with us, her voice will eternally echo in our hearts," Union Minister Shah expressed in his post on X.

In tribute to the late singer, Shah added, "May God grant Asha ji a place at His divine feet. I convey my heartfelt condolences to her family and the multitude of her fans. Om Shanti Shanti Shanti."

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh conveyed that the loss of Asha Bhosle, revered as India's melody queen, is "incredibly heartbreaking" for him.

"As a playback singer, she contributed her voice to countless films and music albums. Generations of Indians have cherished her songs. The resonance of her beautiful melodies will linger on forever," Singh shared on X.

Expressing his sorrow over the legendary singer's passing, the Defence Minister stated, "The loss of Asha Bhosle ji is an irreplaceable void in the music industry. During this time of mourning, I extend my condolences to her family and admirers. Om Shanti!"

During a press interaction, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari remarked, "I had a very close relationship with the late Asha Tai for many years. She had remarkable command over diverse musical styles."

"Much like Lata didi (Mangeshkar), Asha Tai also brought us pride through her singing," he added.

Praising the late singer's unwavering dedication to her art, Gadkari noted, "As she aged, I often encouraged her to cease singing, but she would respond, 'I will continue singing as long as I live.' I witnessed her relentless determination. She devoted her life to music and song. Even when it became challenging for her to walk, her commitment to her craft never wavered."

He remarked that Asha Bhosle's passing was a profound shock to her family and everyone who knew her personally.
