New Delhi, Aug 13 (NationPress) Parthiv Patel, the former India wicket-keeper batsman and mentor of the Outer Delhi Warriors franchise, has encouraged the team to trust in their capabilities and maintain a positive outlook following a narrow 12-run loss to the Central Delhi Kings in the Delhi Premier League 2025.
While chasing a target of 162 runs, the Outer Delhi Warriors faced early challenges, losing four wickets during the powerplay. Despite a commendable performance from middle-order batsman Keshav Dabas, who scored a resilient 64 off 45 balls, the team fell just short, concluding their innings 12 runs behind the target.
After the match, mentor Parthiv Patel expressed his confidence in the team’s ability to recover:
“Although we haven't achieved the results we anticipated, the encouraging aspect is that we are battling hard in each match. These close games demonstrate our competitiveness, and I am confident that we are on the brink of a turnaround,” he said, emphasizing the significance of perseverance and self-belief within the team.
He also pointed out the need for shared accountability and consistency from all players: “It’s not solely the younger players’ responsibility — our senior players need to rise to the occasion as well. When everyone contributes, we will start seeing positive results,” he added.
Rajeshree Shete Iyer, founder of Platinum One Media & Consulting and COO of the Outer Delhi Warriors’ inaugural season, echoed these thoughts:
“We are proud of the spirit our team has demonstrated. Keshav’s innings exemplified our determination to fight until the end. While we've faced setbacks in close matches, the grit and resolve of the squad, combined with Parthiv’s guidance, instill confidence that we can make a significant push in the remainder of the season.”
With the Delhi Premier League 2025 still in its early phases, the Outer Delhi Warriors are set to regroup and harness the positives from their closely contested matches as they seek to return to winning form in the upcoming fixtures.
