Bihar's Patna Cracks Down on LPG Violations: Four FIRs Filed

Patna, March 13 (NationPress) The local administration in Patna, Bihar, has ramped up its oversight efforts to guarantee the seamless distribution and supply of domestic Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).
As of now, four legal cases have been filed regarding violations related to LPG.
Among these, three FIRs were filed in the Barh subdivision, while one FIR was lodged in the Danapur subdivision.
Authorities indicated that the cases in Barh were initiated against café and restaurant owners for illegally using domestic LPG cylinders instead of the required commercial ones, breaching established regulations.
In Danapur, the FIR was registered due to illegal black marketing of LPG cylinders.
The District Magistrate emphasized that the administration is dedicated to maintaining a transparent and uninterrupted supply of domestic LPG for the benefit of consumers.
Additional District Magistrates, district officials, Sub-Divisional Officers, and block-level authorities have been instructed to carry out regular inspections and raids at LPG dealer and distributor locations.
Officials are also gathering consumer feedback to enhance service.
The DM has directed that FIRs be filed immediately and those involved in black marketing, hoarding, or overpricing be arrested upon receiving complaints.
He cautioned that any laxity, negligence, or irregularity will not be tolerated, and violators will face stringent actions under the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA).
To bolster monitoring efforts, 28 enforcement squads (Dhawa Dal) have been formed at the block level to handle complaints regarding domestic LPG cylinders and prevent hoarding.
Block Supply Officers, Block Supply Inspectors, and Assistant District Supply Officers have been appointed as nodal officers for these squads.
These officials are responsible for addressing consumer complaints and responding to control room alerts promptly.
All Sub-Divisional Officers have been assigned as senior officers overseeing the enforcement teams in their respective areas to ensure effective resolution of LPG-related issues.
The district administration has urged the public to report any irregularities to facilitate swift actions against those engaged in illegal LPG trade.
