"The entire nation is taken aback by this appalling attack on tourists in Jammu and Kashmir. The Congress party denounces this cowardly act of terrorism and extends heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims," Khera stated.
He further emphasized that the Congress party stands in solidarity with the victims' families during this challenging period and hopes for a swift recovery for those injured.
Khera highlighted the necessity for a national collective effort to combat terrorism and called upon the government to organize an all-party meeting to formulate a cohesive strategy.
"We urge the government to convene an all-party meeting to devise a concrete plan to tackle terrorism. It is crucial to unite and confront this grave threat," he remarked.
Characterizing the attack as one of the most cowardly acts in history, Khera underscored the severity of the assault on tourists in the area.
"This is a despicable attack on tourists in Kashmir. We have not witnessed such a large-scale attack on tourists in many years. Reports indicate that 27 to 28 tourists have lost their lives, with several others injured. This is unprecedented in the history of Jammu and Kashmir," Khera noted.
He reiterated his appeal to the government, urging them to include the opposition in national discussions to formulate a strong response to terrorism.
"India does not cower before anyone. We are equipped and ready to confront terrorism together. Engage the opposition, and together let’s establish a national strategy to address such cowardly attacks," Khera concluded.
