New Delhi, April 22 (NationPress) The Chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP), Sonia Gandhi, expressed on Tuesday that the entire nation is united against the recent terror attack targeting tourists in Pahalgam, Kashmir.

“The whole nation stands as one against terror. We possess a profound commitment to overcome these divisive and violent elements. It is crucial that we strive to recreate the widespread social consensus against terrorism that has been evident in the past,” she remarked in an official statement.

She conveyed her deep sorrow and devastation upon hearing about the heinous attack on innocent visitors in Pahalgam.

“Resorting to violence is nothing short of cowardice and must be unequivocally condemned,” she stated.

Sonia Gandhi expressed her empathy for the families grieving the loss of their loved ones and extended her heartfelt condolences.

“I also pray for the swift and complete recovery of those who were injured,” she added.

Reports indicate that numerous tourists were tragically killed while others, including both tourists and locals, sustained injuries in a terrorist attack at the Pahalgam hill station in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, prompting security forces to initiate a large-scale operation to apprehend the attackers.

According to sources, two to three terrorists dressed in army uniforms opened fire on horse-riding tourists in the Baisran area around 2:30 p.m. Baisran, a small meadow located 3 to 4 km from the Pahalgam market, is typically accessed by horses due to the absence of a motorable road.
