New Delhi, Oct 7 (NationPress) BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad on Tuesday commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public service, highlighting his journey from Gujarat Chief Minister to the Prime Minister of India as one characterized by commitment, service, and transformational governance.
During a press conference in Delhi, the senior BJP leader stated, “Today marks a moment of pride for our nation as our Prime Minister Narendra Modi enters his 25th year in public service. His journey, which commenced in 2001 as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, continues to be a testament of dedication and service.”
Emphasizing the welfare initiatives of the Modi government, Prasad mentioned that approximately 25 crore individuals have risen above the poverty line under PM Modi’s leadership.
“Today, we see the development of the underprivileged in our country. The empowerment of women is advancing - they are excelling as Drone Didi, Air Force pilots, and Jeevika Didi in various sectors. The youth are gaining new opportunities,” he remarked.
The former Union Minister attributed PM Modi’s vision to India’s transformation into a global digital powerhouse.
“Digital India,” initiated under PM Modi’s guidance, has garnered international acclaim. India has established itself as a major global player in digital payments, with over four crore underprivileged citizens receiving pucca (permanent) houses,” Prasad noted, adding that India’s economy is now the fourth-largest in the world and is on track to become the third.
Shifting focus to West Bengal, Prasad sharply criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee following violent incidents against BJP leaders, including MP Khagen Murmu and MLA Shankar Ghosh.
“Mamata ji, it’s time to stop your speeches about democracy. The people of Bengal are tired of infiltration, terrorism, and vote-bank politics,” he stated. “Why are the intellectuals who once hailed Mamata ji as a model of good governance silent now?”
He also compared the current situation in West Bengal to the ‘Jungle Raj’ of Bihar during former CM Lalu Yadav’s tenure.
“The Jungle Raj wasn’t limited to Bihar; we are witnessing similar conditions in West Bengal under CM Mamata. Elected officials, including an MP and an MLA, have faced brutal attacks, yet neither the CM nor her party has condemned these actions,” he concluded.
