New Delhi, Oct 7 (NationPress) BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad on Tuesday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s incredible 25 years in public service, emphasizing his evolution from Chief Minister of Gujarat to the Prime Minister of India, a journey defined by dedication, service, and transformative governance.
During a press conference in Delhi, the prominent BJP figure stated, “Today marks a moment of pride for our nation as Prime Minister Narendra Modi completes 24 years in public life and steps into his 25th year. His journey, which commenced in 2001 as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, is a testament to unwavering dedication and service.”
Pointing out the welfare initiatives of the Modi administration, Prasad mentioned that approximately 25 crore individuals have transcended the poverty line under PM Modi’s leadership.
“Currently, the nation's development focuses on the underprivileged. Women's empowerment is progressing, with many excelling as Drone Didi, Air Force pilots, and Jeevika Didi across diverse fields. The youth are receiving fresh opportunities,” he remarked.
The former Union Minister attributed India’s rising status as a global digital frontrunner to PM Modi’s visionary leadership.
“The Digital India initiative, launched under PM Modi’s guidance, has gained international acclaim. India has emerged as a major global player in digital payments, with over four crore impoverished citizens now owning pucca (permanent) homes,” Prasad emphasized, adding that India’s economy has now become the fourth-largest globally and is on track to achieve the third position.
Shifting focus to West Bengal, Prasad criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee following violent attacks on BJP leaders, including MP Khagen Murmu and MLA Shankar Ghosh.
“Mamata ji, it’s time to cease talking about democracy. The populace of Bengal is exhausted by infiltration, terrorism, and vote-bank politics,” he stated. “Why are renowned intellectuals, who once hailed Mamata ji as a model of governance, silent today?”
He also drew parallels between the ‘Jungle Raj’ in Bihar (referring to former CM Lalu Yadav’s era) and the current situation in West Bengal.
“The Jungle Raj isn’t confined to Bihar; we are witnessing similar conditions in West Bengal under CM Mamata. Elected officials, including an MP and an MLA, have faced brutal attacks, yet neither the CM nor her party members have condemned these incidents,” he concluded.
