New Delhi, Oct 7 (NationPress) BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad on Tuesday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his remarkable 25-year journey in public service, emphasizing his evolution from the Chief Minister of Gujarat to the Prime Minister of India, which has been characterized by dedication, service, and transformative governance.
During a press conference held in Delhi, the senior BJP leader remarked, “This is a significant day for our nation as our Prime Minister Narendra Modi marks 24 years in public service and embarks on his 25th year. His path, which commenced in 2001 as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, continues to reflect dedication and service.”
Prasad highlighted the welfare initiatives of the Modi administration, revealing that approximately 25 crore individuals have transcended the poverty line under PM Modi’s stewardship.
“Currently, development is taking place for the underprivileged in our nation. The empowerment of women is advancing - with individuals excelling in various roles, such as Drone Didi, Air Force pilots, and Jeevika Didi. The youth are presented with fresh opportunities,” he stated.
The former Union Minister acknowledged PM Modi’s vision for elevating India to a global digital powerhouse.
“The Digital India initiative, launched under PM Modi's leadership, has garnered international acclaim. India has emerged as a crucial global player in digital payments, with over four crore impoverished citizens receiving permanent housing,” Prasad mentioned, adding that India’s economy is now the fourth-largest worldwide and is progressing towards the third position.
Shifting focus to West Bengal, Prasad launched a fierce critique against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee following violent incidents directed at BJP leaders, including MP Khagen Murmu and MLA Shankar Ghosh.
“Mamata ji, it’s time to stop the rhetoric about democracy. The citizens of Bengal have had enough of infiltration, terrorism, and vote-bank politics,” he asserted. “Where are the prominent intellectuals who once praised Mamata ji as a beacon of good governance?”
He further compared the ‘Jungle Raj’ in Bihar (referring to former CM Lalu Yadav's era) with the current situation in West Bengal.
“The Jungle Raj wasn’t only confined to Bihar; today, we witness similar conditions in West Bengal under CM Mamata. Elected officials, including an MP and an MLA, have been viciously attacked, and neither the CM nor her party members have condemned these acts,” he added.
