New Delhi, Oct 4 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday praised the individuals who contributed to the 'Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar' initiative, deeming it impactful and beneficial for women, and highlighting it as a remarkable instance of 'Jan Bhagidari' (people's involvement). In a repost of Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda's message on X, PM Modi expressed, "Commendable effort! Kudos to those who have worked diligently on the ground to render it so impactful and advantageous for our Nari Shakti. This serves as a significant example of Jan Bhagidari aimed at enhancing lives.
According to Nadda's post, the two-week-long 'Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar' initiative reached a historic milestone, symbolizing the nation's united dedication to prioritizing women's health as a fundamental aspect of robust families.
The health camps, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday, September 17, concluded on Thursday, Gandhi Jayanti, benefiting over 6.5 crore women, children, and families through extensive health services.
Nadda noted that during this initiative, 6.5 crore women were screened via nearly 18 lakh health camps established nationwide.
This event marked the largest health outreach for women and children in India.
In a post on X, Nadda stated, "Launched on 17th September by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the two-week-long 'Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan' concluded on 2nd October after achieving historic milestones of screening 6 crore 50 lakh women, through nearly 18 lakh health camps organized across the country."
"This extraordinary achievement reflects the nation's collective resolve to place women's health at the heart of strong families and thriving communities. Let us continue this momentum by encouraging every woman to prioritize her well-being, adopt regular health check-ups, and lead the way towards a healthier, empowered future," he urged.
Furthermore, the camps provided over 62.60 lakh antenatal check-ups, while more than 1.43 crore children received life-saving vaccinations.
In addition to the extensive network of NHM health camps, institutions like AIIMS, other Institutes of National Importance (INIs), tertiary care hospitals, Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, medical colleges, and private entities played a pivotal role in this national initiative.
The facilities hosted thousands of specialty camps, delivering advanced screening, diagnostics, counseling, and treatment services to beneficiaries, thereby complementing the endeavors of state governments and community health workers.
