New Delhi, April 6 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday referred to Lord Ram as a "uniting force" and sought his blessings as he experienced 'darshan' of the revered Ram Setu from the air while returning from Sri Lanka.
PM Modi described it as a "miraculous timing" since the moment aligned perfectly with the 'Surya Tilak' ceremony occurring at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on the occasion of Ram Navami.
In a post on X, PM Modi expressed, "On the way back from Sri Lanka a short while ago, was blessed to have a Darshan of the Ram Setu. And, as a divine coincidence, it happened at the same time as the Surya Tilak was taking place in Ayodhya. Blessed to have the Darshan of both."
"Prabhu Shri Ram is a uniting force for all of us. May His blessings always remain upon us," he added.
As Ayodhya celebrated Ram Navami, a spiritual moment was witnessed at the Ram Temple when a beam of sunlight illuminated the forehead of the Ram Lalla idol, a phenomenon cherished as 'Surya Tilak'.
The temple was splendidly decorated with lights and flowers as numerous devotees gathered for the festivities. Over two lakh diyas are set to be lit in the evening. Drones sprinkled sacred Saryu water on the crowd, enhancing the grandeur of the celebrations.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi is slated to inaugurate numerous key developmental projects in Rameswaram, including India's inaugural vertical lift railway sea bridge at Pamban.
This cutting-edge infrastructure project represents a significant engineering feat designed to improve connectivity to the pilgrimage town of Rameswaram.
The 2.08-kilometre-long bridge, built at a cost of Rs 550 crore, consists of 99 spans and a 72.5-metre vertical lift section that can elevate 17 metres to permit ship passage beneath.
This 660-metric-ton lift span showcases the brilliance of indigenous Indian technology, constructed with provisions for dual rail tracks to facilitate future expansion.
A high-level review meeting was held with senior railway officials, law enforcement agencies, and intelligence units to ensure flawless arrangements for the significant inauguration.
Highlighting the bridge's cultural and technological importance, Indian Railways stated on April 5, "Bridging the past, lifting the new, Pamban stands tall with a breathtaking view. This Ram Navami, witness the unveiling of India's first vertical lift railway sea bridge."
The new bridge is anticipated to greatly enhance travel convenience for thousands of pilgrims and tourists visiting Rameswaram, a sacred site deeply connected to the Ramayana tradition.
Prime Minister Modi is also expected to visit the historic Ramanathaswamy Temple around 12.45 p.m. on Monday. This visit holds symbolic significance as it links the infrastructural development with the cultural and spiritual essence of the region.
