New Delhi, May 9 (NationPress) As the Indian Armed Forces targeted Pakistani positions and successfully intercepted its fighter jets in response to their aggression on Thursday night, the political landscape has embraced the military's decisive actions with enthusiasm.
“We stand united in our pride for our armed forces. Pakistan will be held accountable for its heinous war tactics,” is the prevailing sentiment echoed by leaders from various political factions.
From Congress to Samajwadi Party to Shiv Sena, all opposition parties have expressed their support for the Indian military's actions, emphasizing that it is Pakistan that needs to take steps to de-escalate the situation.
Congress representative Sandeep Dikshit, in a conversation with IANS, stated, "Pakistan has persistently provoked us, yet our responses remain measured and controlled. We respond according to their actions, as they say, 'Nehle pe Dehla.' However, the truth is, we are delivering 'Dehla on Dehla,' because when we assess our military might, economic strength, national development, and unity, we are immensely more powerful than them. Nonetheless, we choose to respond proportionately rather than escalating the conflict drastically."
He further remarked, “Despite facing numerous setbacks, Pakistan remains obstinate, but I believe this is their final endeavor.”
Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad commented, "Within 48 hours, Pakistan’s military forces will lack the capacity to retaliate. Our courageous Indian Army, with its rich history, deserves our utmost respect and admiration. We honor our soldiers for their bravery. The terrorist bases that spawn terrorism will be thoroughly eradicated by our forces, marking a definitive end to terrorism and terror attacks."
He also urged the public to rally behind and uplift the morale of the armed forces.
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut remarked, "In times of conflict, the government deserves full support. The Indian military should have our unwavering backing. In battle, it’s not about us or the Prime Minister; it’s about our Army, Air Force, and Navy..."
RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari stated, "All 1.4 billion Indians take immense pride in the remarkable valor and courage of India's armed forces. Anyone harboring malicious intentions or posing harm to our innocent citizens will face a strong retaliation."
“The world has witnessed India’s military capabilities and will not tolerate terrorism,” he added.
