Mumbai, Oct 6 (NationPress) Actress and filmmaker Pooja Bhatt embarked on a nostalgic journey as she reflected on her experiences during the production of the musical drama “Sur: The Melody of Life.”
In a recent Instagram post, Pooja, who co-produced this 2002 film, shared several behind-the-scenes snapshots featuring Lucky Ali and Gauri Karnik.
“When the 'remember this?' evokes joy, it signals a journey where harmony triumphed over cacophony. Discovered these treasures from the making of “Sur.” What an enchanting period it was! @tanuja__chandra @marijkedesouza @officialluckyali,” she captioned the post.
Loosely inspired by the 1992 Telugu film Swati Kiranam, which drew influence from the 1984 movie Amadeus, “Sur: The Melody of Life” narrates the story of Vikramaditya, a music instructor who encounters Tina and decides to nurture her vocal talent.
The plot thickens as Tina rises to fame, causing tension with Vikramaditya.
Pooja, daughter of Mahesh Bhatt and half-sister of actress Alia Bhatt, marked her leading debut in the television film Daddy in 1989. She gained widespread recognition with the romantic comedy Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, which became her most successful film.
Over the subsequent decade, Pooja received critical praise for her roles in Sadak, Junoon, Naraaz, Angrakshak, Chaahat, Tamanna, Border, Angaaray, and Zakhm. This period was followed by a hiatus.
Her most recent project is Big Girls Don't Cry, an English-language coming-of-age drama series that premiered in 2024.
Directed by Nitya Mehra and executive produced by Sudhanshu Saria, the series features actors Mukul Chadda, Raima Sen, Zoya Hussain, Avantika, Tenzin Lhakyila, Aneet Padda, Dalai, Vidushi, and Afrah Sayed.
Pooja also participated in the second OTT season of “Bigg Boss.” The grand finale aired on August 14, 2023, crowning Elvish Yadav, a wildcard contestant, as the winner, with Abhishek Malhan as the runner-up.
