Mumbai, May 1 (NationPress) Actress Pooja Hegde recently shared her thoughts about her role in the new film “Retro”, stating that embodying “Rukku” was the most enjoyable experience she has ever had.
Pooja took to Instagram to post several stills from the Suriya-led film, describing her character Rukmini, affectionately called Rukku, as the “purest of souls, innocent yet intelligent.”
She expressed, “Rukmini, the purest of souls, innocent yet intelligent… fiercely protective of her loved ones and embodying kindness and hope, even in the bleakest moments.”
“Striving to be like you is a goal. Becoming Rukku was the most fun I’ve ever had. I leave a piece of my heart with her, and from now on, she belongs to you as much as she does to me. RETRO time!,” Pooja concluded.
The film “Retro” is directed by Karthik Subbaraj and has been filmed across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Ooty, Kerala, and Chennai. The plot revolves around a gangster who seeks to abandon violence and pursue a peaceful life after making a vow to his wife.
Looking ahead, Pooja is set to appear in the Bollywood movie ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’, starring alongside Varun Dhawan and Mrunal Thakur, with filming scheduled in the UK for two months.
The title “Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai” seems to resonate with the song “Ishq Sona Hai” from the 1999 film “Biwi No.1”, featuring Salman Khan and Karisma Kapoor, both directed by David Dhawan.
While details about the narrative are scarce, “Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai” is expected to draw inspiration from the charm of classic 90s romantic comedies.
The cast is anticipated to include Kubbra Sait, Maniesh Paul, Rohit Saraf, Rajeev Khandelwal, Nitish Nirmal, and Sreeleela. Varun commenced filming for “Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai” in July of the previous year.
