Pooja Hegde and Suriya Star in New Film 'Retro'

Mumbai, Dec 25 (NationPress) The highly anticipated film directed by Karthik Subbaraj, featuring Suriya and Pooja Hegde, has officially been titled ‘Retro’.

On Christmas Day, the stars took to their social media platforms to unveil the title of this gangster-themed drama.

Suriya posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, sharing the title teaser and expressing: "Merry Christmas Dear All #Retro Summer 2025. Meet you all soon! @karthiksubbaraj @hegdepooja @C_I_N_E_M_A_A @Music_Santhosh @kshreyaas" (sic).

Pooja shared the teaser link on her Instagram, stating: “This character has a piece of my heart. #RETRO A love story on adrenaline.”

Previously referred to as Suriya 44, this film marks the esteemed actor’s 44th project.

The two-minute teaser offers a glimpse into the intense narrative of ‘Retro’. It begins with the two leads seated by the ghat, where Pooja, portraying a village girl and Suriya’s love interest, ties a sacred band around his wrist.

Suriya is then heard saying: “I will control my temper…. I’ll leave it all behind from this moment. I’ll try to smile and be happy. The purpose of my life in your words, Dhammam is love. Pure love.”

In his last appearance, Suriya was featured in “Kanguva”, where he faced off against Bollywood actor Bobby Deol as the antagonist.

Pooja Hegde is also busy with several promising projects, including Deva, Thalapathy 69, and Hai Jawaani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. Earlier this month, she began a new shooting schedule for “Thalapathy 69” in Chennai.

She expressed her enthusiasm to her fans via social media, posting a tranquil scene from the set with the caption: “Chennai Mornings Day 16,” indicating her early start at 6:30 a.m.

The film “Thalapathy 69” marks Hegde's debut collaboration with Vijay, becoming a significant highlight in his illustrious career. Directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Venkat K. Narayana under the KVN Productions banner, this film is poised to be a grand tribute to Vijay's legacy.
