Chennai, April 21 (NationPress) Director Karthik Subbaraj has shared insights on how the crew of his upcoming film 'Retro', starring Suriya and Pooja Hegde, successfully adapted to the unexpected rains and finished the movie ahead of schedule.

During the audio launch event held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, Karthik Subbaraj expressed, “This story of 'Retro' was destined for Suriya sir, Pooja Hegde, Joju George, and all the other artists. Our team is thrilled with the final outcome of the film.”

He noted that while they initially planned to wrap up the shooting in 90 days, the team impressively completed the project in just 83 days.

“We worked tirelessly. My entire team deserves the credit. We faced numerous challenges, as if the monsoon was following us. We filmed in the Andamans where it rained, and thought moving to Ooty would help, but a storm hit there too. Nevertheless, we improvised daily. Some scenes were not intended for rain, but I would suggest, 'Let’s adjust this scene to be shot in the rain.' Our team was always ready to adapt,” he added.

In addition to Suriya and Pooja Hegde, the film will feature notable stars including Malayalam actors Joju George and Jayaram, and Tamil actor Karunakaran.

The film's music is composed by Santhosh Narayanan, with cinematography handled by Shreyaas Krishna. Editing is managed by Shafique Mohamed Ali, and art direction is overseen by Jacki and Mayapandi. The action-packed film includes stunts by Kecha Khamphakdee.

Interestingly, Suriya underwent special martial arts training in Thailand for this role.
