On Monday, as previously promised, the film's team unveiled behind-the-scenes insights through a comic strip.

The initial comic strip illustrated how the crew broke away from the conventional pooja ceremony to commence the film.

Taking to X, the production house, Stone Bench, shared a comic titled Retro BTS Comic: Episode 1.

Accompanying the comic, they stated, “Launching 'Retro' with Flair! Forget the standard pooja ceremony or typical promotional videos—Karthik Subbaraj envisioned something completely distinctive. Hence, the team opted for a single, impactful scene to unveil ‘Retro’. No fluff, just pure cinematic intensity. And the fans? They went wild!”

The production team emphasized that the shot had to be executed regardless of the weather. “Rain or shine, we had to capture this moment! The initial glimpse of Retro was filmed in relentless rain. The elements were challenging, but the team persisted.”

Highlighting the dedication of every technician and artist, the producers mentioned that Suriya managed to pull off the shot on his first attempt. “And Suriya sir? A true legend—he nailed it in just one take!” the producers remarked.

They also noted that not only was the footage shot, but the entire process was completed on site, including DI work.

“Before anyone could even blink, the final video was ready. No delays, no last-minute stress—just seamless, effective execution,” the makers shared, reflecting on how the initial shot was wrapped up.
