New Delhi, Aug 11 (NationPress) Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan delivered a strong condemnation of the Congress party and INDIA Bloc on Monday, accusing them of making attempts to damage the reputation of democracy while allegedly creating 'methods and means' to incite 'anarchy' across the nation.
During a press conference held at the BJP headquarters, the Union Minister asserted that the nation’s democratic institutions are under siege by Rahul Gandhi's Congress party, claiming this is part of a larger strategy by the Opposition to tarnish India’s image and provide an opportunity for adversaries to 'humiliate' the country.
“While the INDIA Bloc and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi continuously lament about the erosion of the Constitution and democratic principles, the real danger to these constitutional values is emanating from them. The people of India are observing their actions,” he remarked.
The BJP MP accused the Congress of lacking ideological direction and being ensnared in confusion, which has led them to target constitutional bodies without restraint.
“In the past, Congress and others raised doubts about the integrity of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). Now, they have escalated their protests against the SIR and are challenging the legitimacy of elections in states like Maharashtra, Jharkhand, and Karnataka. This is their method of disseminating misinformation and fostering chaos,” he stated.
He continued by asserting that the Congress party, due to its continuous failures in both Parliamentary and Assembly elections, has reached a point of bankruptcy.
“They lack a coherent policy or strategy and are merely acting as a reactionary force. It is unprecedented since Independence for the Supreme Court to express such harsh sentiments towards any political figure,” he noted.
Pradhan further contended that criticizing SIR was a calculated tactic by the Congress-led Opposition to 'instigate anarchy.'
“Winning elections is acceptable, but losing leads to complaints. I commend the media for fact-checking Rahul's recent claims,” he acknowledged.
He also highlighted that when confronted with factual evidence, Congress and its allies resort to intimidation and even threaten the electoral commission with extreme accusations.
The language used by the Leader of the Opposition is reminiscent of the rhetoric employed by those who wish to destabilize our economy and democracy, he added.
“I urge all Opposition parties to prioritize national interests and fulfill their role as a constructive Opposition, avoiding actions that could enable adversaries to exploit our vulnerabilities,” he further stated.
“Those who carry a copy of the Constitution, do they genuinely wish to dismantle the democratic framework?” he questioned.
In response to queries regarding Rahul Gandhi's grave allegations of electoral fraud by the Election Commission, Pradhan mentioned that had Gandhi possessed any proof of alleged manipulation or 'vote theft', he should have submitted an affidavit and called for a thorough investigation instead of sowing disorder with unfounded claims.
