Is Banning RSS a Daydream for Congress?

Bengaluru, July 4 (NationPress) Union Minister for Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Pralhad Joshi criticized Congress MLA and Minister Priyank Kharge for claiming that the RSS would face a ban if Congress regains power at the national level, labeling it as nothing more than an illusion.

Addressing the media in Bengaluru, Joshi stated: "It’s fortunate that Congress remains the largest opposition party in the nation. Their aspirations of returning to power and implementing a ban on the RSS are purely fantasy."

He further remarked: "Rahul Gandhi, his grandmother, and great-grandfather all attempted to impose a ban on the RSS in the past, but they were unsuccessful. The RSS will continue to expand its presence throughout the country."

In response to Kharge’s statements, Joshi noted: "Kharge is indulging in fantasies about banning the RSS. His assertion that ‘if we come to power, we will ban RSS’ exhibits his desperation. The notion of Congress reclaiming power is unrealistic. Let Kharge keep dreaming. It’s a stroke of luck for them to remain the leading opposition party. However, their chances of returning to power are out of the question."

Reflecting on history, Joshi recalled: "The Congress government in 1975 attempted to ban the RSS, and that very government eventually collapsed. After Nehru banned the RSS, a commission was established, which concluded there was no evidence supporting such a ban. Priyank Kharge selectively interprets history to fit his agenda while neglecting the broader context."

“The era of banning the RSS is long gone. All restrictions have been removed. No further actions can be taken. The RSS is nearing its centenary and will only continue to thrive. The people of this nation have embraced the ideologies of the RSS and BJP, while turning away from those of Congress,” he asserted.

Joshi also accused the state Congress administration of attempting to distract the public from the Valmiki Corporation scandal. “Once news of the demand for a CBI investigation surfaced, they began to spotlight other matters like MLC Ravikumar’s statements,” he remarked.

“MLC Ravikumar has already clarified his remarks regarding the Chief Secretary. Yet the government has proceeded to file an FIR. Let them conduct their inquiry — but it’s evident that Congress is leveraging this situation for political gain to mask its own shortcomings,” Joshi claimed.

“Hasn’t Chief Minister Siddaramaiah himself disrespected senior IAS and IPS officials?” Joshi challenged.

“He publicly humiliated a Deputy Commissioner and an ACP. There have been numerous instances where the Chief Minister has disrespected officials. Why hasn’t the government acted in those situations?” he pressed the Congress government.
