Chanting slogans against the government, opposition members executed a walkout from the House.
The issue was highlighted by Congress MLA Rohit Bohra, who questioned the tender awarding process for the scheme.
In response, Minister of State for Energy Hiralal Nagar stated that the decision to implement smart meters was made by the prior Congress administration.
