Jaipur, April 9 (NationPress) During his two-day visit to Hanumangarh and Sri Ganganagar, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma toured the Suratgarh Super Critical Thermal Power Station on Wednesday.

He conducted a thorough inspection of the facility, instructing officials to ensure the efficient and orderly operation of all power generation units to guarantee an uninterrupted power supply, particularly during the peak summer months.

In a review meeting, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for regular inspections of all technical systems.

He highlighted the significance of proactively identifying and addressing potential issues to avert breakdowns or shutdowns of production units caused by technical difficulties.

CM Sharma further underscored the necessity for ongoing monitoring of each unit’s power generation capacity to satisfy the increasing demand without interruptions.

Reaffirming the state government’s dedication to enhancing Rajasthan’s energy infrastructure, the Chief Minister noted that measures are in progress to augment the state’s power generation capacity using affordable and advanced technologies.

In alignment with this aim, work orders have been issued for the creation of a 125/250 MWh Battery Energy Storage System at the Suratgarh Thermal Power Station.

Moreover, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been established for the construction of a 100 MW solar power plant at the site, through a partnership between RVUNL and Coal India.

These projects are designed to fulfill the government's commitment to providing dependable daytime electricity to farmers and ensuring energy availability for everyone.

The Chief Minister was joined by several notable officials and dignitaries, including Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara, Water Resources Minister Suresh Singh Rawat, Minister of State for Energy (Independent Charge) Heeralal Nagar, and Additional Chief Secretary of Water Resources Abhay Kumar.

Also present were Devendra Shringi, CMD of Rajasthan State Electricity Generation Corporation Limited, Chief Engineer and Additional Secretary (West) Amarjeet Singh, and Chief Engineer of the Suratgarh Super Critical Thermal Power Station KC Singhal, along with various public representatives and senior administrative officials.

This visit highlights the state government’s proactive strategy to meet power demands and guarantee energy security for both the agricultural sector and the general populace, according to officials.
