Chennai, Dec 9 (NationPress) G.K. Mani, a prominent figure in the Pattali Makkal Katchi, declared on Tuesday that the recent ruling from the Delhi High Court distinctly supported the party's founder, S. Ramadoss, and negated the assertions made by the opposing faction led by Anbumani Ramadoss.
While addressing the media in Thailapuram, located near Tindivanam in Tamil Nadu, Mani emphasized that this judicial decision reaffirmed Dr. Ramadoss's leadership. He will continue to guide the party, make strategic decisions regarding political alliances for the impending 2026 Assembly elections, and maintain authority over the party’s official recognition and electoral symbol.
“Only the founder will chart the future direction of PMK. Anbumani Ramadoss has no involvement in any party matters,” he stated. G.K. Mani also indicated that the party would soon reclaim its traditional ‘mango’ symbol and participate in the upcoming elections under that emblem.
He claimed that the verdict revealed significant irregularities that occurred before the Election Commission of India (ECI). He pointed out that Anbumani Ramadoss was elected as the party's president for a three-year term, which concluded in May 2025.
However, the rival faction allegedly presented falsified documents to the election authority by misrepresenting the 2023 general council meeting as one from 2022, thereby trying to unlawfully extend his term until 2026.
Addressing recent communications sent by the ECI to Anbumani Ramadoss at his Chennai residence, Mani clarified that this did not signify recognition of his leadership. “It was merely a technical change of address based on distorted facts. The party intends to pursue this issue legally before the Commission,” he remarked.
Mani also appealed to the Election Commission to “remain impartial and vigilant,” warning against what he described as a betrayal of political parties. “The ECI made a significant error by previously acknowledging the Anbumani faction. The Ramadoss-led faction is the sole representative of the authentic PMK,” he asserted.
Encouraging party members who had defected to the opposing camp to return, Mani urged, “I invite all PMK workers to adhere to the principles of truth and justice and reunite under the leadership of our founder.”
Expressing optimism about the party's future, he stated that the PMK would emerge more robust and united in preparation for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
