Salem (Tamil Nadu), Dec 28 (NationPress) The internal power struggle within the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) escalated on Sunday as its honorary President G.K. Mani made a series of pointed remarks supporting founder Dr S. Ramadoss while openly targeting his son, Anbumani Ramadoss.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the PMK’s significant working committee meeting set for Monday, Mani emphasized that this gathering was of historic significance and that party members were eagerly anticipating a major political declaration from Dr Ramadoss concerning the party’s alliance for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
“All eyes are on tomorrow’s meeting. Dr Ramadoss is poised to make a pivotal announcement that will influence the party’s future and electoral strategy,” he stated.
In a direct assault on Anbumani Ramadoss, Mani accused him of orchestrating a deliberate conspiracy to seize control of the party from its founder.
“Anbumani has systematically undermined the party. Numerous party members have expressed to me that his actions have harmed the PMK. He lacks the authority to expel me from the party,” asserted Mani.
He claimed that Dr Ramadoss had already removed Anbumani Ramadoss from all responsibilities, including his basic membership.
“If he no longer holds any official capacity in the party, how can he remove anyone else?” Mani queried, adding that those who blindly followed Anbumani without grasping the reality would eventually return to the party’s ranks.
Mani further remarked that the PMK, which was once a formidable and respected political entity in Tamil Nadu, had suffered due to internal conflict.
“The party’s reputation has waned because of intentional actions that weakened its foundation. However, under Dr Ramadoss’s leadership, the party is being revitalized and fortified,” he noted.
He claimed that many leaders and party members who had distanced themselves were eager to return, previously misled by what he termed “false narratives” and “emotional manipulation”.
According to Mani, the party’s revival has already commenced, with Dr Ramadoss appointing new office-bearers and taking steps to restore discipline and credibility within the organization.
“The PMK will once again rise as a formidable political force in Tamil Nadu. The upcoming announcement will clarify this,” he declared.
This development comes amid heightened speculation regarding the PMK’s future alliances as the 2026 Assembly elections approach, with observers keenly monitoring the results of the party’s internal restructuring.
