Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Chennai, Jan 20 (NationPress) The highly anticipated Malayalam crime thriller 'Anomie', helmed by director Riyas Marath and starring Rahman and Bhavana, has had its release date shifted to February 6 this year, as confirmed by its producers on Tuesday.
The film was initially set to premiere on January 30.
In a post shared on the film's official social media account, the producers revealed the new release date alongside a poster, stating, "Made for the big screen. Arriving February 6, 2026. Welcome to the universe of Anomie. Anomie - The equation of death. Starring @bhavzmenon and @rahman_actor. Written and directed by @riyas_marath."
The film has generated significant buzz following the release of its teaser just a week ago.
The teaser opens with a voiceover that proclaims, "Everyone, everywhere wants to live. The wealthy desire life, the impoverished seek it as well. No one wishes to die." As this narration unfolds, intense scenes featuring police officers flash on the screen.
Another voiceover, delivered in Malayalam, states, "The only thing that mankind fears is death." Rahman portrays a police officer confronting a suspect, declaring, "You are a fucking psychopath," to which the suspect retorts through what seems to be a microphone, "No, I am not."
Bhavana's character asserts, "Either he knows who the killer is, or he is the killer," as law enforcement prepares for a manhunt.
The teaser culminates with a voice, presumably that of the psychopath, taunting, "Who will come next, a man? Or a force? A man with a force." This dialogue accompanies a montage of gripping action sequences.
Clearly, the film delves into the pursuit of a psychopath by the police.
In addition to Bhavana and Rahman, the cast includes Shebin Benson, Vishnu Agasthya, Binu Pappu, and Arjun Lal in significant roles.
Produced by Dr. Roy CJ, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, Blitzkrieg Films, Bhavana, and Aadith Prassanakumar, the film features music by Harshavardhan Rameshwar and cinematography by Sujith Sarang.
