Chennai, Jan 13 (NationPress) The production team behind director Vignesh Karthick's new comedy film 'Hotspot 2 Much', which stars actress Priya Bhavani Shankar in the main role, has revealed that the movie is set to premiere on January 23 this year.

The film has already received clearance from the Censor Board, earning a U/A rating.

On their Instagram account, KJB Talkies, the film's production house, stated, "We’re making our debut a bit earlier than scheduled. #Hotspot2much hits theatres on Jan 23rd. The adventure starts sooner than anticipated!"

A recently released trailer has only heightened the anticipation among fans and film enthusiasts.

The trailer indicates that the sequel in the Hotspot series maintains the comedic tone of its predecessor.

It opens with a mother questioning her teenage daughter about the caste of her boyfriend's family. The modern daughter retorts, "They are our people. Can't you tell just by looking at them?" The confused mother asks, "How can you say that just by looking at them?" to which the daughter replies, "They didn’t have tails. That means they belong to our species, right?"

The trailer also features actor Ashwin Kumar confronting a drunken friend who has fallen asleep. He exclaims, "How dare you sleep when I’m discussing something so crucial!" The friend, waking up, responds, "Sorry machan, I tend to doze off if I don’t like the story." This moment recalls a past controversy involving Ashwin Kumar. Additionally, the trailer showcases Rakshan and Aadhitya Baaskar portraying two fervent fans of movie stars. While Priya Bhavani Shankar's exact role remains unclear, there is a scene where she comments on a situation with an older hero paired with a younger heroine. The film also features empowered female characters who are interested in DINK (Double Income No Kids) families and cuffing relationships.

This film, directed by Vignesh Karthick, stars Priya Bhavani Shankar, Thambi Ramaiah, Rakshan, Ashwin Kumar, and Aadhitya Baaskar in leading roles. The cast also includes M S Baaskar, Bhavani Sre, Brigida Saga, and Sanjana Tiwari in significant roles.

Notably, the film is being presented by actor Vishnu Vishal's production company, Vishnu Vishal Studioz.

On the technical side, the film features cinematography by two cameramen, Jagadeesh Ravi and Joseph Paul. The music score is by Satish Raghunathan, editing is done by Muthayan U, and C Shanmugam is responsible for the art direction. The film is co-directed by Kishore Sankar.
