New Delhi, Aug 5 (NationPress) Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday categorically denied the accusations made by the Opposition, especially the Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, regarding the alleged presence of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel inside the Upper House chamber.
Rijiju labeled these claims as misleading and asserted that they were intended to undermine the respect for Parliament.
During a press conference following the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting, Rijiju stated, “Kharge ji has sent a letter to the Deputy Chairman alleging that CISF entered the House. This assertion is entirely false. The Chair has confirmed that no external security forces, including the military or CISF, were present. The individuals involved were marshals from the Parliament Security Service.
He emphasized that only marshals and authorized personnel are permitted inside the chamber and that no outside security forces are allowed entry. “This is a deliberate attempt to mislead the public. The Opposition, particularly the Congress, is disseminating falsehoods through select media outlets. Today, the Leader of Opposition reiterated the untrue claims about the Army or CISF being brought into the House. This is categorically untrue,” he remarked.
Rijiju accused the Opposition of degrading the dignity of Parliament and generating unnecessary controversies to disrupt proceedings. “These statements not only lack truth but also tarnish the reputation of our democratic institutions,” he added.
Additionally, the Union Minister criticized Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's statement that a judge cannot determine who is a true Indian. Rijiju asserted, “The Congress has a tendency to challenge the judiciary. They lack faith in the Constitution, prioritizing one family over the nation and the Constitution.”
Earlier, during the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting, a resolution was adopted commending the Armed Forces for their successful execution of Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev. Rijiju mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the assembly, providing direction for the NDA's future as a natural and organic alliance.
He urged the Opposition to permit Parliament to operate smoothly, stating, “We are incurring significant losses due to disruptions. Crucial bills, including one concerning the reservation for Scheduled Tribes in Goa, are pending.”
