Los Angeles, June 5 (NationPress) Hollywood icon Robert De Niro emphasized that he will always support his children, even if he disagrees with their choices. The 81-year-old star, who has six children including Drena, 57, Raphael, 48, twins Julian and Airyn, 29, Elliot, 27, and 13-year-old Helen Grace from previous relationships, as well as two-year-old Gia with his partner Tiffany Chen, believes parental support is crucial, as reported by ‘Female First UK’.
In an interview with 'Entertainment Tonight', he stated, “The main thing is to support your kids. As long as they’re not hurting themselves or engaging in destructive behavior, you must back them up, period. They need to know that you are there for them—always.”
The 'Goodfellas' actor described his youngest child as “pure joy,” saying, “She’s two now. It’s always wonderful.”
Furthermore, the 'Meet the Fockers' star shared how he manages to balance his career and parenting a toddler. He mentioned to E! News, “Yeah, she's fantastic! She’s visited me on the 'Zero Day' set a few times; I shot that last year. You find a way to make it work. Sometimes, I have her on set with my girlfriend. I’m fortunate—I have a camper.”
However, Robert humorously confessed that he does not change his little girl's diapers. When asked if he does, he responded to The Sunday Times magazine, “No, no, but I used to!” He cherishes spending early mornings with her, stating, “I’m an early riser. I spend my mornings watching (toddler YouTuber) Ms. Rachel with her, and I give her her bottle.”
Robert strives to be a good father, acknowledging the complexity of family dynamics. He said, “Oh God, they would all have different answers. Family is very complex. I try my best; that’s all. I hope they’ll be happy.”
