Mumbai, Oct 20 (NationPress) Famous for his role in ‘Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain’, Saanand Verma shared poignant memories from his childhood during this Diwali. He candidly discussed the financial hardships his family endured.
In an exclusive statement to IANS, he recounted a time when even basic Diwali items like diyas were beyond their means. Saanand reflected, “There was a period when we couldn’t even afford diyas. My mother used an incense stick instead.” Although he felt disheartened then, he has since moved past that negativity. “Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha have bestowed their blessings upon me, and I firmly believe that faith can illuminate any darkness,” he expressed.
“Diwali represents more than just an annual expression of gratitude. It should be a daily practice. I don’t wait for Diwali to show my thanks to God—I express it every day for my blessings. Even in tough times, the light of Diwali serves as a reminder that darkness is temporary. It brings hope, optimism, and goodness,” he elaborated.
The actor shared that he celebrates the festival simply, enjoying family gatherings, sweets, and eco-friendly fireworks. “I prefer sparklers and environmentally friendly firecrackers. I don new clothes, pray to Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha, and strive to spread joy around me. That’s the essence of Diwali—light overcoming darkness,” he stated.
Saanand also expressed pride in India’s rich culture and treasured traditions during Diwali. He mentioned, “It is said that Lord Rama returned home on this day. That divine sentiment of homecoming, purity, and unity permeates the atmosphere during Diwali. It reminds us of our humanity and the incredible power of faith.”
Verma concluded, “The darkness within me has entirely dissipated. Today, I am a joyful individual. Regardless of my financial status, I have no need for reasons to smile—God has endowed me with the strength to find joy in everything.”
