Chennai, Feb 2 (NationPress) Actress Sai Dhanshika, the star of director Goutham Krishna's upcoming action film 'Yogi Da', has revealed that she executed all the stunts featured in the movie without a body double.

During a pre-release event held by the film's producers, the actress remarked, “I first engaged in action sequences during 'Peraanmai', and that experience has been invaluable. All the action scenes in 'Yogi Da' were performed solely by me, without a stunt double. Women can perform stunts just as competently as men if they choose to. In today's world, violence against women is on the rise. Society often holds the misconception that once a woman is physically harmed, she cannot recover. 'Yogi Da' illustrates that a woman can indeed rise above adversity. We made this film with women in mind, to the best of our abilities.”

The actress expressed her gratitude towards her entire team, stating, “I extend my heartfelt appreciation to my entire team — this achievement would not have been possible without them. I believe a film should communicate through our hard work rather than mere words.”

Dhanshika also noted that the title 'Yogi Da' was inspired by her character from Rajinikanth's 'Kabali'.

“In 'Kabali', I portrayed Rajinikanth sir’s daughter, named ‘Yogi’. This is how 'Yogi Da' originated. While choosing the title, we recognized parallels with my look and action style from 'Kabali', leading to the selection of 'Yogi Da'. For 'Kabali', I actually cut my hair, whereas for this film, I opted for a wig. Following 'Kabali', many women were inspired to cut their hair due to my role, underscoring the profound impact a film can have on its audience,” said Sai Dhanshika.

Produced by Senthilkumar under the banner of Sri Monica Cini Films, 'Yogi Da' has been written and directed by Goutham Krishna. The action-packed film, featuring Sai Dhanshika in the lead role, is set to release on February 6 of this year.

Point of View

I commend Sai Dhanshika's determination to perform her own stunts in 'Yogi Da'. This not only showcases her talent but also delivers an important message about women's strength and resilience in the face of adversity. It is crucial for cinema to reflect societal issues and empower women, and this film seems to be a step in that direction.
