At this prestigious event, the classic Bollywood film, Umrao Jaan, will be celebrated in the esteemed company of Rekha and director Muzaffar Ali. In a heartfelt tribute to this landmark film, Shibani intends to perform two memorable tracks: “Dil Cheez Kya Hai” and “In Aankhon Ki Masti Ke”.
In a recent interview with IANS, when asked if performing for icons like Rekha ji and Muzaffar Ali ji was a source of pressure or a divine blessing, Shibani responded with conviction that it was indeed a divine blessing.
“I have a good rapport with Muzaffar Ali, especially since his son Murad Ali is a dear friend. I am truly excited to pay homage to them,” she shared, acknowledging her nerves as any artist would feel.
Discussing her approach to merge legacy with a modern flair during her performance, Shibani expressed that her artistic essence has always harmonized the traditional with the contemporary.
“I have a natural tendency to blend genres, and my music consistently reflects a fusion aspect. Joining me on stage will be the Qawwali artist Aman Khan Sabri. We will even incorporate Qawwali elements through pieces like “Damadum Mast Qalandar” and “Chaap Tilak”. Performing and enjoying these songs is my passion. The concert promises a rich variety of musical experiences,” she elaborated.
Elaborating on the event's details, she stated, “On December 8, numerous delegates from the Red Sea Festival will be in attendance, and I eagerly anticipate performing on this global platform.
