Mumbai, Oct 13 (NationPress) The Shiv Sena (UBT) has raised concerns on Monday, asserting that the BJP-led MahaYuti government has halted the 'Mukhyamantri Majhi Shala, Sundar Shala' (CM My School, Beautiful School) initiative, originally launched during Eknath Shinde's time as Chief Minister.
Former Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council, Ambadas Danve, criticized Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for neglecting projects initiated under Shinde's administration, suggesting that it hints at internal power conflicts within the MahaYuti coalition.
Danve posed the question of whether the “non-commencement or closure” of the scheme is part of a broader strategy to “cut to size” a coalition partner.
In a subtle jab, he stated, “The chief conspirator (not directly naming Eknath Shinde) will remain mum on this matter while continuing to back the BJP’s Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project.”
Initially launched on December 5, 2023, the Mukhyamantri Majhi Shala, Sundar Shala initiative aimed to modernize, beautify, and holistically enhance schools throughout Maharashtra. The program hosted competitions at the state, district, and taluka levels during the 2023 academic year, rewarding participants with cash prizes totaling lakhs of rupees. This initiative reportedly gained substantial support from educational institutions, teachers, and parents alike.
Danve asserted that despite the program's success, it has not been relaunched this year. “This program had reached every corner of the state in two phases, yet the government has failed to revive it,” he said.
He further accused the government of discontinuing the Anandacha Shidha scheme, which provided subsidized festival kits and was also launched under Shinde’s leadership.
Danve highlighted several other programs allegedly abandoned by the current government, including the Cleanliness Monitor, One State, One Uniform, and One Page, One Book projects from the Education Department, alongside Re 1 Crop Insurance, Apprenticeship for Beloved Brothers, Yojana Doot, and the Mukhyamantri Tirtha Darshan Yojana (Pilgrimage Visit Scheme).
“By terminating successful schemes that provided tangible benefits to the public, the Devendra Fadnavis government has reversed decisions made by its own allies. We will reveal to the public how these welfare initiatives were discontinued despite their popularity,” Danve concluded.
