Mumbai, Feb 24 (NationPress) The Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (UBT) on Tuesday referred to the protest at Bharat Mandapam as a "semi-nude revolution" that exemplifies the current state of democracy, where the ruling party, media, and educational institutions are all exposed.

According to the party’s mouthpiece 'Saamana', "The reality of completely denuding democracy, the Election Commission, and the judiciary has been achieved during PM Modi’s Amrit Kaal. This represents a significant blow to the nation’s dignity. It echoes the saying, 'Everyone is naked in the hammam (public bath)', implying that if PM Modi comprehended this, he would refrain from making such empty remarks about the protest at Bharat Mandapam. The government ought to acknowledge its own weaknesses before pointing fingers at others," the party stated.

In an editorial in 'Saamana', the Thackeray faction declared, “Even after the Modi administration exposed itself by signing a trade deal with President Trump that allegedly subjugates India, they still believe it is their prerogative to criticize Congress. Their primary focus seems to be attacking Congress while the disrobing of India persists, with PM Modi continually commenting on the exposure of others.

The editorial also scrutinized the Prime Minister’s strong reaction to this particular protest, contrasting it with previous instances where more severe forms of “nudity” did not evoke similar responses from the leadership.

“Consider the shocking incident in Manipur, where women were paraded naked by a mob. The Prime Minister did not visit the victims or extend genuine support during that crisis. If the semi-nude protest at Bharat Mandapam tarnished the nation’s reputation, does the naked procession of women in Manipur reflect the height of dignity? Years ago, women conducted a nude protest outside an army regiment alleging grave misconduct, yet their pleas reportedly went unnoticed by the government. Numerous Naga Sadhus roam in a state of nudity during the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, which the BJP celebrates as part of Indian culture and Hindutva,” the editorial pointed out.

The piece noted that a certain "Modi-bhakt" female BJP leader had overstepped boundaries by using language regarding "stripping others naked" to attack rivals. However, the people of Amethi corrected her by defeating her. “Winston Churchill once mocked Mahatma Gandhi by calling him a "naked fakir" or "semi-naked fakir". Yet, it was that very "semi-naked fakir" who delivered the "Quit India" message and compelled the British to leave,” the commentary stated.

The Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena asserted that the Prime Minister's constant criticism of Congress has turned into a "business", contending that while the administration accuses the opposition of undermining the country's dignity, it has been "stripped bare" by its own actions. "The naked dance of power persists in India while supporters shower it with flowers," the party concluded.
