Mumbai, Nov 17 (NationPress) Shiv Sena (UBT) asserted on Monday that in a scenario where victory and defeat are dictated exclusively by the Election Commission's commands and the dissenting voices across the nation are being stifled, the populace recalls one singular voice: that of Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray.

The party, through its mouthpiece 'Saamana', highlighted the ongoing attempts to disrupt the political landscape of the Marathi Manoos in Maharashtra. Yet, with Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray's collaborative initiative aimed at the forthcoming elections for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, the aspirations of Balasaheb Thackeray are once again being pursued. This united front signifies that only Marathi unity will prevail in Mumbai-Maharashtra.

The Saamana editorial, commemorating Balasaheb Thackeray on his death anniversary, noted that he imparted the essential message of 'unity' to the Marathi populace, which serves as a fitting tribute to his legacy.

The editorial further praised Balasaheb Thackeray as a remarkable figure and a lion in Indian politics, emphasizing Maharashtra's pivotal role in the nation’s political sphere. He inspired the Marathi community to embrace their identity wherever life took them. “Balasaheb is calling upon the Marathi Manoos today, 'Jai Maharashtra! Are you awake? If you remain dormant, you will be lost! Stay alert,'” it stated.

“In the midst of the prevailing chaos and disorder in India, millions are reminded of Shiv Sena leader Balasaheb Thackeray each day. Following the Bihar Assembly results, Chief Minister Fadnavis remarked, 'Jo jeeta wohi Sikandar' (Whoever wins is Sikandar). If Balasaheb were alive today, he would have scoffed, inquiring, 'Who is this Sikandar? Is he the new patriarch of the Hindutva faction? The true progenitor of Maharashtra and the nation is Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. At best, Sikandar might represent the BJP's forefather,'” the Thackeray camp remarked with sarcasm.

The party contended that Maharashtra, which has historically taught the nation how to resist, “is being exploited like Surat today, while the blind devotees, who label themselves as Marathi, sing praises of Modi and Shah.”

“If Balasaheb were present today, his whip would have struck the backs of all of them. The courts, democracy, and elections have become mere spectacles in this country. The mandate holds significance in a democracy. The people remember the resonant voice of Balasaheb Thackeray, who rallied all Hindus and sometimes called upon the Marathi people from Shiv Tirtha (Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Park) to unite them,” it concluded.
