Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Dec 24 (NationPress) As the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation elections approach, the Shiv Sena has unveiled its esteemed roster of 40 'Star Campaigners'.
This announcement, made under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister and Chief party Leader Eknath Shinde, pays tribute to the late Balasaheb Thackeray and former Shiv Sena Thane Chief Dharmaveer Anand Dighe.
The roster includes a diverse mix of seasoned leaders, Cabinet Ministers, and influential Members of Parliament.
The campaign is set to be led by the senior leadership of Shiv Sena, guaranteeing a prominent presence throughout the state.
The list starts with Deputy Chief Minister Shinde, followed by notable leaders Ramdas Kadam, Gajanan Kirtikar, and Anandrao Adsul.
Several incumbent Ministers are part of the campaign to use their administrative prowess, including Gulabrao Patil, Uday Samant, Shambhuraj Desai, and Deepak Kesarkar.
Prominent MPs like Shrikant Shinde, Prataprao Jadhav (Union Minister), Milind Deora (Union Minister), and Dhairyasheel Mane have been assigned key campaigning roles.
The youthful and spiritual factions of Shiv Sena are represented by Purvesh Sarnaik (Yuva Sena Working President) and Akshay Maharaj Bhosle (Dharmaveer Spiritual Sena), aiming to connect with younger voters and religious groups.
Adding to the star-studded lineup, veteran actor and Shiv Sena MP Govinda Ahuja is positioned at number 40, bringing star appeal to the campaign.
Previously, Deputy Chief Minister Shinde criticized the Shiv Sena-UBT, remarking that “for them (the Uddhav Thackeray faction), who governed for 25 years, Mumbai was merely a hen that laid golden eggs.”
He also pointed fingers at the Opposition, stating that those involved in the 'Khichdi' scam, fake Covid centers, and body bag scams during the pandemic should introspect before criticizing others.
He emphasized that the latest Municipal Council outcomes indicate Shiv Sena's growth from 'Chanda to Banda' (throughout Maharashtra).
Expressing gratitude to voters for their confidence in the 'Bow and Arrow' symbol, Deputy Chief Minister Shinde declared, “Shiv Sena had the highest strike rate in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.”
“Our performance in the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections was also superior compared to other parties. Winning a larger number of seats while contesting fewer underscores our impressive strike rate,” he remarked.
