Gurugram, April 13 (NationPress) Two individuals have been taken into custody for supposedly shooting at a man in Gurugram, as reported by police on Sunday.
The suspects have been named as Som Shukla and his accomplice Rinku Singh.
As per police reports, Shukla fired at a friend of his girlfriend on Thursday evening.
The friend narrowly avoided injury while the assailants managed to escape the scene.
The firearm utilized in the crime was supplied to Shukla by Singh.
An FIR regarding this incident was lodged at the Sadar police station.
Responding to a tip-off regarding a shooting near the Irish Park building in Sector 48, police arrived at the scene, where they found the girl and her friend.
The victim informed the police that he and the girl had become acquainted three months prior as they were employed at the same private firm.
In his police statement, the victim identified the shooter as Shukla, a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
Approximately three days before the incident, Shukla observed the victim and the girl conversing outside their office.
Following that, he threatened the victim to cease communication with her.
"Around 8 p.m. on Thursday, Shukla, who was positioned outside my office, drew a pistol and fired at me. I narrowly evaded the shot and rushed towards my office to save myself. He pursued me and fired again, but I managed to escape once more," the victim recounted in his statement.
"The suspects are currently in police custody for ongoing investigations. They will undergo rigorous questioning for further inquiries," stated Sandeep Kumar, spokesperson for the Gurugram Police.
In an unrelated incident, five men were apprehended on charges of robbing a medical store at gunpoint and fleeing in Gurugram.
