Mumbai, April 19 (NationPress) Bollywood actress Shweta Tripathi has given numerous unforgettable performances in notable works like the Mirzapur franchise, Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein, and Masaan. She revealed that she values the distinction between her authentic self and the roles she embodies on screen.
When asked about the challenges of portraying a character vastly different from herself compared to one that mirrors her, Shweta responded to IANS, “Umm, the one that is completely different. If it closely resembles me, then I’d question, ‘Who are you?’ Because we are multifaceted. (I’d feel a connection to it—because, then, ‘What are you?’) We are composed of various elements.”
Shweta enjoys experimenting with diverse roles.
“I relish playing characters. Golu is nothing like me. I don’t desire Golu’s or Shikha’s life to mirror mine, or the other way around. My characters are all incredibly distinct from my true self, and that’s how I prefer it,” she expressed.
The actress, recognized for her contributions to the Mirzapur series, Masaan, Raat Akeli Hai, Cargo, and Haramkhor, announced her inaugural home-production film in March, which will showcase a women-led queer love narrative.
The 39-year-old star, who initiated her film journey as a production assistant and associate director, was recently featured in the film Kanjoos Makhichoos, directed by Vipul Mehta.
This film is inspired by the renowned Gujarati play Sajan Re Jhooth Mat Bolo. It features Kunal Khemu, Shweta Tripathi, Piyush Mishra, Alka Amin, Rajeev Gupta, and Raju Srivastava.
Discussing her endeavors in the OTT realm, Shweta, who spent her formative years in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Mumbai, was last seen in the crime drama Kaalkoot. The series also stars Vijay Varma, Seema Biswas, Yashpal Sharma, Gopal Dutt, and Suzanna Mukherjee.
