Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Jammu, Jan 31 (NationPress) Three Army soldiers sustained injuries on Saturday amidst an anti-terror operation in Dolgam village, located in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district. Reports indicate that Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists are currently trapped within the cordon established by the joint forces.
Officials confirmed that the injuries occurred during an ongoing encounter between the terrorists and security personnel in Dolgam village on Saturday morning.
They reported that between 2 to 3 JeM terrorists are confined within the cordon set by the joint forces.
The confrontation reignited after security forces re-established contact with the terrorists early on January 31 during the joint initiative dubbed Operation TRASHI-I. The anti-terror operation remains active in the area.
On Saturday, the exchange of fire resumed between the joint forces and the concealed terrorists in Dolgam village, following the joint forces' successful tracing of the terrorists after January 18.
The Nagrota-based Army's White Knight Corps announced via their official X handle, “During the ongoing joint Operation TRASHI-I, contact with terrorists was re-established early on 31 Jan 2026 in Dolgam, thanks to coordinated intelligence efforts from various sources. A cordon has been established and operations are currently ongoing.”
Firing exchanges commenced early Saturday involving the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF, and the terrorists in Dolgam village.
As a security measure, authorities suspended mobile Internet services across a broader area, including the Dolgam encounter site, starting Friday.
An earlier encounter on January 18, 2026, lasted several hours between the joint forces and the terrorists during a search operation near Sonnar, northeast of Chatroo in Kishtwar.
This operation, named Operation Trashi-I by the White Knight Corps, saw the loss of one army paratrooper during initial exchanges with the hidden terrorists in Chatroo on January 18.
In a tribute to the fallen soldier, the Army posted on X on January 19, “The GOC, White Knight Corps, and all ranks pay solemn tribute to Havildar Gajendra Singh of the Special Forces, who made the supreme sacrifice while gallantly executing a Counter Terrorism operation in Singpura during the ongoing Operation TRASHI-I. We honor his indomitable courage, valor, and selfless commitment to duty and stand firmly with the grieving family during this difficult time.”
Joint forces have tirelessly continued the search for the terrorists following January 19, successfully locating them in Dolgam village after a 12-day pursuit. Further updates are awaited from the encounter site in Kishtwar district.
