Mumbai, Sep 8 (NationPress) Who among us does not recognize the beloved devotional song "Chalo Bulawa Aaya Hai"? Renowned singer Sonu Nigam is reportedly set to breathe new life into this iconic composition for Sony TV's upcoming series, "Chalo Bulawa Aaya Hai".
A source close to the project revealed, "Sonu Nigam will be recreating the most iconic song 'Chalo Bulawa Aaya Hai' for Sony TV's upcoming show, which focuses on hope and belief. After several decades, we return to our roots and explore our rich mythology."
The narrative of "Chalo Bulawa Aaya Hai" follows the journey of 8-year-old Maniki Singh Lodhi from a Bundelkhand village (Jhansi), whose father, Sagar Singh Lodhi, an army officer, goes missing at the border. Unwavering in her belief, Maniki's faith in Maa Vaishno Devi propels her to embark on a journey to Katra, seeking divine support.
This mythological drama will feature Payoja Srivastava in the lead role of Maniki Singh Lodhi, alongside Avinesh Rekhi as her father, Alyea Ghosh as mother Anandi Sagar Lodhi, Puneet Vashisht as antagonist Ravindra Vijayvargiya / Bairagi, and Shruti Choudhary portraying the teacher and divine force.
The upcoming show is produced by Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s Swastik Productions.
Turning our attention back to Nigam, just last week, he showcased his '90s flair alongside actor Varun Dhawan with the track "Bijuria" from the much-anticipated film, "Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari".
The singer shared an Instagram Reel with Varun, where they were seen dancing to the "Bijuria" song, igniting the internet with their lively dance steps.
Nigam expressed that "Bijuria" is one of those rare songs that has transcended time.
“When we first recorded it, I never imagined it would garner such adoration and remain timeless, as if it was eternal. Revisiting it decades later feels like a full-circle moment. I feel honored that the original vocals continue to resonate in this reimagined version,” he stated.
