Chennai, May 8 (NationPress) Actor Soori, who is generating buzz with his forthcoming family film 'Maaman', recently expressed an apology on behalf of the movie crew to the music director Hesham Abdul Wahab for the unintended inconvenience they caused due to their eagerness to hear his compositions.
During the audio launch of director Prasanth Pandiyaraj's 'Maaman', Soori warmly welcomed Malayalam music maestro Hesham Abdul Wahab to the Tamil film landscape. He proceeded to apologize for the persistent calls made by the entire team in their quest for the film's songs.
In his characteristic humorous style, Soori recounted the events, stating, "I wish to extend my apologies to Hesham Abdul Wahab on behalf of our team. I believe we might have troubled him quite a bit in the process," he remarked with a grin.
He highlighted that while it’s often challenging for directors to connect with music directors, the entire crew managed to reach out to Hesham Abdul Wahab.
"The director would often call him at the last minute asking for a song, to which he would kindly respond, 'I'll take care of it. No worries.' Immediately after, his assistants, unaware of the director's call, would reach out to Hesham Abdul Wahab requesting the same song," Soori shared, causing laughter among the audience.
"At one point, Hesham Abdul Wahab called me to inquire about someone named LK. I explained that it was the director's last assistant. The music director said LK had called him at 2 AM asking for a song, and shortly after, the editor called him for the same track," Soori recounted, as laughter erupted in the crowd.
Soori then called the director to inform him that aside from the driver's absence, everyone else in the unit had contacted the music director.
Turning to Hesham Abdul Wahab, he said with a chuckle, "I apologize on their behalf. It's merely a testament to our eagerness to hear your music. I initially thought I was the only one eager to hear it, but it seems the entire town was inquiring about the songs. You have blessed us with fantastic music. Thank you!"
The film, which focuses on a boy's affection for his maternal uncle, is set to release globally on May 16 this year.
Alongside Soori, the film features Jayaprakash, Rajkiran, and Aishwarya Lekshmi, among others, including Bala Saravanan, Viji Chandrashekar, Baba Baskar, Nikhila Shankar, and Master Prakeeth Shivan.
Expectations are soaring for this film for several reasons. Firstly, it is directed by Prasanth Pandiyaraj, well-known for the hit series ‘Vilangu’. Secondly, Soori reunites with producer K Kumar, who also produced the actor’s previous blockbuster ‘Garudan’.
