Mumbai, Jan 25 (NationPress) Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan, who was recently featured in ‘Jawan’, stands to receive a significant refund from the state government for his renowned bungalow Mannat located in the Bandra district of Mumbai.
The actor is poised to reclaim Rs 9 crore due to a miscalculation by the government. The Maharashtra government is expected to grant the actor's request for reimbursement concerning an overpayment made to the collector of Mumbai Suburban District regarding the land where his residence is situated.
Covering an area of 2,446 square metres, the property was leased by SRK and his spouse, Gauri Khan, through a formal agreement in 2001. The couple disbursed 25 percent of the ready reckoner price in March 2019 according to state policy, which was estimated at around Rs 27.50 crore.
Subsequently, sources revealed that the actor discovered an 'unintentional mistake' made by the state government in calculating the conversion fee. It appears that the government mistakenly considered the value of the bungalow rather than the land itself.
Previously, an old video featuring SRK circulated on social media where he discussed his encounters with the perilous underworld.
He remarked in the video, “The Hindi film industry is the most vulnerable sector right now. We are the largest film producers globally. The mafia would support a film and demand, ‘I want you in my film’. They attempt to facilitate a film and introduce their representatives to me, saying, ‘Okay Shah Rukh, you must take this film or this hero or actress must do this film’. When I inquire about the producer, they would respond, ‘It’s fine; this is the person we are sending, engage with him and finalize the film’.”
He further added, “If you’re afraid for your life, you end up signing it; otherwise, if you're willing to take a risk, you decline.”
When questioned about having faced threats, he responded, “Oh, yes, it’s happened numerous times. But then, you either choose to secure yourself, as I did for three years with police protection.”
