New Delhi, Sep 5 (NationPress) On Teacher's Day, President Droupadi Murmu honored 45 exceptional educators with the National Teacher Awards during a ceremony at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. Educators from Bihar, Chandigarh, and Assam shared their feelings of pride, describing the recognition as a moment they will never forget.
IANS interviewed several award-winning teachers.
"I feel incredibly honored. This recognition validates my hard work," expressed Kumari Nidhi, a teacher from Kishanganj, Bihar. She noted that this accolade has heightened her commitment to improving the education sector.
Pramod Kumar, another awardee from Bihar, shared, "We provide training for defense careers to empower students. Educating teachers is essential, as only knowledgeable educators can deliver quality education to their pupils."
From Chandigarh, Parveen Kumari reflected on her award as an unforgettable achievement.
She acknowledged the challenges she faced in imparting knowledge and expressed gratitude to the government for this recognition.
"Education empowers students to achieve self-sufficiency," she stated.
Debojit Ghosh, a principal from a tea plantation school in Assam, described the honor as a "unique experience" and thanked the Chief Minister of his state.
He encouraged all educators to commit wholeheartedly to teaching students.
Pragya Singh from Chhattisgarh, another honoree, expressed her excitement and discussed her innovative approaches.
"I have created a math lab and a math park, resulting in 100% student engagement in math," she explained.
Earlier, President Murmu commended teachers for revolutionizing classrooms and equipping children to become responsible citizens of the future.
In her address, she highlighted the significance of education and emphasized the need for investment in girls’ education, describing it as a critical investment for families, society, and the nation.
Importantly, the awarded teachers, comprising 24 males and 21 females from urban and rural schools, were selected through a stringent three-stage process based on their innovative practices and positive impact on student learning.
