Amaravati, Oct 20 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, marked the festive occasion of Diwali alongside his wife, Bhuvaneswari, by engaging in firecracker celebrations at their residence in Undavalli on Monday evening.
Following a traditional puja, the couple illuminated their home with lamps and enjoyed bursting firecrackers in their courtyard.
Chandrababu Naidu expressed his sentiments on ‘X’, stating, "Festivals are integral to our culture and traditions. Particularly for us Telugu people, festivals are celebrated with immense fervor and magnificence. Each festival carries its own significance. Diwali symbolizes the triumph of good over evil," he shared.
"I celebrated the Diwali festival, which brings light and dispels darkness, in the company of family at our Undavalli home. I prayed for the well-being of all the citizens of our state... may the lights of Diwali shine eternally... and may every day be a celebration for the people. Once again, I extend Diwali greetings to everyone, seeking divine blessings and the support of the populace in our mission to illuminate the state with progress," he added.
Earlier on Sunday, the Chief Minister and his wife participated in Diwali festivities at Punnami Ghat along the Krishna River in Vijayawada.
He also visited Beasant Road in Vijayawada, where he engaged with citizens regarding the impact of GST reforms on commodity prices. He inquired from merchants about the fluctuations in pricing following these reforms.
The Chief Minister had discussions with local vendors, including women entrepreneurs, about their earnings during the festive season. He interacted with street vendor Durga Rao, who sells jute bags, and V. Krishna Rao, who offers footwear, asking them about price changes due to GST adjustments.
While partaking in the Diwali celebrations, he emphasized the vision for Andhra Pradesh to emerge as a hub for Artificial Intelligence. He noted that the planned Google data center in Visakhapatnam would cater to multiple nations.
He asserted that the NDA administration had successfully placed the state's finances on a rapid growth trajectory in just 16 months, implementing numerous welfare initiatives under the Super Six program.
