Patna, Oct 22 (NationPress) RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav made a significant election promise on Wednesday, stating that all contractual workers and Jivika Didis in Bihar will receive permanent government positions if the Grand Alliance secures victory after November 14.
During a press briefing at his residence in Patna, Tejashwi Yadav fiercely criticized the NDA government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, accusing it of rampant corruption and the exploitation of contractual staff within government sectors.
“Numerous departments are making substantial payments to outsourcing firms, yet these companies fail to pay even half of the designated salary to employees. The remaining funds are siphoned off as commissions to ministers, senior officials, and key decision-makers,” Tejashwi Yadav claimed.
“Consequently, contractual employees are compelled to accept less than half of their rightful pay and live with constant job instability, as they can be dismissed without notice at any time,” he continued.
Tejashwi assured that once he is in power, all contractual employees will be granted permanent status and full job security.
“During our 17-month tenure in the Grand Alliance government, we regularized contractual teachers despite Sushil Kumar Modi's criticisms, who claimed it was impossible. We demonstrated that it could be achieved — and we will extend the same opportunity to contractual workers through agencies like BELTRON,” he stated.
Tejashwi Yadav also introduced a comprehensive plan for Jivika Didis, pledging to confer permanent government status upon them with a monthly salary of Rs 30,000, plus Rs 2,000 for additional expenses.
Moreover, he promised an interest waiver on existing loans, allowing only the principal amount to be repaid. In addition, he committed to providing interest-free loans for two years and an insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh for every Jivika Didi.
These initiatives aim to empower rural women and fortify the state’s Self-Help Group (SHG) network.
Tejashwi Yadav also announced two new welfare schemes set to launch if his party regains power, revealing the MAA Scheme, where M represents Makan (House), A stands for Anna (Food), and the other A symbolizes Aamdani (Earning).
He elaborated on the BETI Scheme, where B stands for Benefit, E for Education, T for Training, and I for Income.
“These schemes will ensure that every family has shelter, food security, a reliable income source, and that every daughter receives education, training, and financial independence,” the RJD leader articulated.
Reiterating his previous commitment, Tejashwi Yadav once again pledged to provide one government job per household if his party comes to power in Bihar.
“Our vision is unequivocal — job security, women's empowerment, and governance free from corruption. We will implement policies that guarantee dignity and stability for every family in Bihar,” Tejashwi Yadav concluded.
