What Events Marked Telangana Formation Day?

Hyderabad, June 2 (NationPress) The state of Telangana commemorated its 11th Formation Day on Monday with a grand ceremony featuring the unfurling of the National Flag and paying respects to martyrs by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, along with cabinet ministers and leaders from various political factions across the state.

The primary official event took place at Parade Grounds, Secunderabad, where Chief Minister Reddy hoisted the Tricolour, observed a vibrant parade, and accepted the salute.

From an open-top jeep, Chief Minister Reddy reviewed the parade featuring numerous contingents from the state police and acknowledged their salute.

During the event, Chief Minister Reddy awarded cash prizes totaling Rs. 1 crore to nine distinguished individuals, including poets and artists, for their significant contributions to the Telangana movement. The award was posthumously given to revolutionary balladeer Gaddar, which was accepted by his wife, Vimala.

Renowned multilingual literary scholar Nalimela Bhaskar received the Kaloji Award from the Chief Minister.

Additionally, medals of gallantry were presented to 19 police officers, while 11 others received medals for meritorious service.

The Mayor of Kitakyushu City, Kazuhisa Takeuchi from Japan, was a special guest at the Telangana Formation Day celebrations.

Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, Director General of Police Dr. Jintender, and other senior officials were present.

Prior to the main event, the Chief Minister paid tribute to the martyrs of Telangana at the memorial located at Gun Park near the Assembly building.

Governor Jishnu Dev Varma also hoisted the Tricolour at his official residence, Raj Bhavan, to commemorate the state's formation day.

In all district headquarters, ministers and high-ranking officials led the formation day festivities.

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka hoisted the National Flag at Khammam. During his speech, he emphasized that the Congress government is dedicated to transforming Telangana into the most prosperous state in the nation.

Vikramarka, who also oversees the finance portfolio, asserted that Telangana has set a benchmark for other states.

Celebrations for Telangana Formation Day also took place at the offices of various political parties.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Mahesh Kumar Goud hoisted the Tricolour at the Congress headquarters, Gandhi Bhavan, expressing gratitude to party leader Sonia Gandhi for realizing the dreams of millions by establishing Telangana State.

Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy raised the National Flag at the BJP state office in Hyderabad.

Kishan Reddy, who also serves as the state BJP president, honored the Telangana martyrs, criticizing the previous BRS government for not meeting the people's expectations over the last decade, and stated that the current Congress government has also failed to uphold its promises.

Kishan Reddy pledged that the BJP would take on the responsibility of fulfilling the aspirations that led to the formation of Telangana State.

At Telangana Bhavan, the headquarters of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), Madhusudhana Chary, the Leader of Opposition in the Telangana Legislative Council, and BRS MLA Harish Rao hoisted the Tricolour.

They, along with numerous BRS leaders, honored the Telangana martyrs and adorned statues of Telangana Thalli and Professor Jayashankar.
