Hyderabad, June 2 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy, declared on Monday that the 'people's government' has initiated a reconstruction process in the state aimed at satisfying the aspirations of its citizens.
He criticized the previous administration for causing a complete breakdown of the state's systems and economy, asserting that the Congress government is now dedicated to revitalizing every sector.
During the main official function at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad, commemorating Telangana's formation day, he emphasized that the struggle for statehood spanned decades, driven by a demand for emancipation, freedom, and equal opportunities. However, he noted that the aspirations of the people remained unfulfilled during the decade of BRS governance. "The frustrated populace of Telangana has ousted the oppressive regime and provided a strong mandate to the progressive and people's government," he remarked.
The Chief Minister stressed that the citizens of Telangana reject oppression and human rights violations, claiming his government is advancing alongside the aspirations and expectations of the people.
He highlighted various initiatives taken by the government to rectify issues in the education sector, including the appointment of Vice Chancellors, organizing competitive exams for filling vacancies in government departments, and forming the Education Commission, Agriculture Commission, Information Commission, Lokayukta, and Human Rights Commission to ensure the independent functioning of these systems.
Revanth Reddy announced plans to create one crore women millionaires through the Indira Mahila Shakti scheme aimed at women's economic empowerment. The government is set to provide Rs 1 lakh crore in loans to women over five years, with Rs 21,000 crore already disbursed in the first year.
He stated that women's self-help groups are being encouraged to establish solar power generation plants, with initiatives to promote them as entrepreneurs by allocating petrol pumps, setting up Mahila Shakti canteens, and managing school uniforms.
In addition to offering free bus travel for women, the state has introduced a scheme to hire buses owned by women's groups for TGSRTC services, with plans to assist these groups in procuring 600 buses. The government aims to enhance the state economy by engaging women's groups as stakeholders.
Other initiatives for women's empowerment include supplying 200 units of free power, offering domestic cooking gas cylinders at Rs 500, and constructing Indiramma Houses.
He claimed the government fulfilled its promise to waive farm loans of up to Rs 2 lakh, with Rs 20,617 crore in loans for 25,35,964 farmers being waived. The administration is also providing continuous free power to the agricultural sector at a cost of Rs 15,333 crore, increasing Rythu Bharosa to Rs 12,000 per acre, and offering Rs 12,000 in financial aid to landless agricultural workers under Indira Atmiya Bharosa.
The government is giving a bonus of Rs 500 for high-quality paddy alongside the minimum support price, resulting in increased income for farmers who are now cultivating premium varieties. Telangana has produced 268 metric tonnes of paddy, ranking first in the nation.
To resolve land disputes, the government implemented the Bhu Bharati -2025 Act and organized awareness camps to find lasting solutions to land ownership issues throughout the state.
Prioritizing the future of the youth, Revanth Reddy stated that over 60,000 vacancies have been filled within just 16 months of assuming office. He noted that 10,000 teacher positions have already been filled through the DSC exam.
The government is addressing financial barriers faced by civil service aspirants by providing Rs 1 lakh in assistance. A Young India Skills University has been established for youth skill development, with a Sports University set to open soon to train talented athletes and help them secure Olympic medals.
He asserted that the state government is working diligently to position Telangana as a key player in developing India into a $30 trillion economy. The Telangana Rising 2047 action plan has been drafted to transition the state into a $1 trillion economy within the next decade and a $3 trillion economy by 2047.
Revanth Reddy stated that the government is rapidly advancing to establish the youngest state in India as a prime destination for global investments. "We have reached significant milestones in attracting investments from major international companies during our visits to Davos, Singapore, and Japan, securing agreements for over Rs 3 lakh crore in investments," he said.
The government aims to develop Hyderabad to match other global metro cities and compete on the international stage. The Musi rejuvenation project has already been initiated to revitalize the historic Musi River.
Plans are also in place to develop Future City over 30,000 acres with modern facilities, including AI City, Pharma City, Sports City, and Life Sciences and Health City. The Future City Development Authority has been established to oversee these large-scale projects.
To enhance Hyderabad's development, the government has commenced the construction of the Regional Ring Road at a cost of Rs 18,000 crore. Work is already underway, and a radial road network is being developed to connect the Outer Ring Road and Regional Ring Road.
