Hyderabad, Sep 17 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy, proclaimed on Wednesday that the primary aim of his administration is to realize the dreams of the Telangana people who have aspired for freedom, social justice, and equality for the past 70 years.
He emphasized that the government's focus is on achieving the sacred objectives for which Telangana fought and engaged in movements for equality.
Reddy pledged to transform Telangana into a beacon of excellence in the nation, not just in terms of development but also in ensuring freedom, equality, and social justice.
Speaking at the principal ceremony of Telangana Praja Palana Dinotsavam, or people's governance day, he highlighted that September 17 marks the anniversary of Hyderabad State's integration into the Indian Union.
He remarked that this day symbolizes the inception of Telangana's democratic history. "The people of Telangana triumphed in the armed struggle and raised the Tricolour on September 17, 1948. They dismantled the autocratic regime and embraced 'Praja Palana' (people's governance). Thus, we celebrate Praja Palana Dinotsavam today," he stated.
He paid homage to the numerous martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the cause of freedom and liberated the state from oppression, tyranny, and dictatorship.
"September 17, 1948, is a pivotal moment in Telangana's history. Another significant date is December 7, 2023, in the democratic evolution of Telangana State. We experienced a severe crisis during a decade of dictatorial governance that stifled the aspirations of the Telangana populace. Emulating the spirit of the armed struggle, we overcame the authoritarian rulers and initiated 'Praja Palana' in the state. Future generations will forever remember December 7, 2023, as a historical milestone," he asserted.
He detailed the initiatives his government has undertaken to meet these aims.
Emphasizing the government's commitment to education, the Chief Minister stated, "We are pioneering the establishment of Young India Integrated Model Schools with a visionary approach. These institutions will become centers of excellence and significantly transform the education system in Telangana in the future."
He mentioned that the Young India Sports University and Young India Skill University will serve as vital pillars for the future of Telangana.
No other state government in the nation has allocated Rs 1.4 lakh crore for farmer welfare within a single year, he noted.
He also highlighted that the People's Government has successfully filled over 60,000 jobs without any disputes in just 20 months since coming to power.
To uphold the promise of social justice, the government conducted a caste census and subsequently passed three bills in the state Legislative Assembly to ensure 42% reservation for backward classes in education and local bodies in Telangana.
Pointing out the significance of the Krishna and Godavari rivers as the lifelines of Telangana, he assured that the government would not waver in securing the rightful share of water from these rivers.
"Our ambition is to establish Telangana as a $1 trillion economy by 2035 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047. Once we achieve these economic milestones, Hyderabad will emerge as the gateway to the world," he declared.
"The Gandhi Sarovar project at Bapu Ghat, greenfield highways, dry ports, the second phase expansion of Metro Rail, radial roads linking the outer and regional ring roads, airports in Warangal and Adilabad, and industrial corridors like Hyderabad-Nagpur, Hyderabad-Bangalore, and Hyderabad-Vijayawada are part of the Telangana Rising – 2047 initiative. Our determination is to put this resolution into action and position Telangana as a crucial player in the nation's advancement by 2047," the Chief Minister concluded.
