The Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) announced on Thursday that a coordinated effort involving 100 officers from the Delhi Crime Branch alongside 124 members of EAGLE Force was carried out in Delhi.
According to EAGLE Director Sandeep Shandilya, 20 locations were targeted during raids in Mehrauli, Sant Garh, Pratap Enclave, Prithvi Park, Nilothi, and Chandra Nagar in Munirka.
The operation resulted in the arrest of over 50 Nigerians, with significant drug seizures occurring at various sites. All individuals apprehended were linked to a Nigerian drug cartel.
In Noida, Gwalior, and Visakhapatnam, local police collaborated closely with the EAGLE Force from Telangana. Arrests included a drug kingpin, individuals involved in drug sales who were also engaged in sex work, and the primary account holders for drug transactions.
Every officer from the EAGLE Force is currently on operational duty. The director praised the exceptional cooperation received from the Delhi Crime Branch and local police leaders from Gwalior, Visakhapatnam, and Greater Noida.
The EAGLE officers involved in these joint operations comprised one Superintendent of Police, eight Deputy Superintendents of Police, 17 Inspectors, 16 Sub-Inspectors, and 82 head constables/police constables.
